Apple's swollen batteries are symptomatic of a larger industry problem

If you’ve been following Apple’s latest iPhone launch you’ll be aware that the start of sales hasn’t gone all that smoothly. Following six early reports of battery issues with the new iPhone 8 Plus, Apple has now launched an official investigation onto these cases to determine the cause of the problem, and whether these are just isolated issues or early symptoms of a wider problem. The issue hearkens back to last year’s Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

BlackBerry Aurora with 5.5-inch display and 4GB of RAM announced in Indonesia

A company called BB Merah Putih, which has a licensing agreement that allows it to make and sell BlackBerry-branded smartphones in Indonesia, has announced its first device. The BlackBerry Aurora, as it’s called, is made in Indonesia and specifically designed to appeal to local customers. It’s the first BlackBerry smartphone with dual-SIM support, which is a feature that’s apparently in high demand in the country. BB Merah Putih shouldn’t be confused with TCL, the Chinese company which has a global agreement with BlackBerry in Canada to produce handsets, the most recent of which is the BlackBerry KEYone.

Facebook Messenger will soon let you pay your friends back with PayPal

Paying back your friends is getting even easier. Facebook Messenger has supported sending money through its platform for a few years now, but you had to use a credit or debit card. Now, Facebook is bringing PayPal into the fold. PayPal certainly has its faults, but it does provide another layer of protection in case someone gets ahold of your account. You can access the new feature the same way you’d pay with your credit or debit card.

The Galaxy Note 3 product name has already been found in the Samsung SideSync app online documentation, with a few weeks ahead of its official announcement. The fact that a third-gen Galaxy Note 3 is coming this fall is hardly a secret anymore, and it’s not like we don’t know the device’s commercial name – the support documents list “Galaxy Note III” as its official product name. However, the fact that Samsung already officially acknowledges it in app documentation suggests that the device could be soon launched.

Google will answer some questions instead of loading search results

TL;DR Google Search will start cutting out third-party search results on mobile and only display answers from the company. Users can choose to still load the complete list of search results if they aren’t given the answer they’re looking for. Nothing should be changing for those using Google Search on a desktop browser. For some time now, Google has added its own answers to the top of search results.

Regardless of the add-on, Hulu subscribers will have access to its live and on-demand libraries.
