It might be hard to believe, but today Google turns 20. Although the Google.com domain was registered on September 15, 1997, and the company was incorporated on September 4, 1998, Google has declared its official birthday as September 27, 1998 (you can read more about that here). The volunteer team at VideoLAN have been working diligently on new features for its popular VLC media player for Android since it released the big 2.0 update in mid-2016. Hopes that Samsung will announce today their next superphone at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, were hopelessly shattered, as Samsung announced that their “special announcement” will actually be the (second) unveiling of Angry Birds Space, flavored with bits of exclusive content for Samsung Galaxy owners. From the looks of it, Samsung will use SXSW to heavily promote its Samsung Galaxy Note. For those of you who frequently make or receive calls on your Android phone, an effective app known as SpeakerProximity can be a handy app.  In a nutshell, the app provides automatic switching between earpiece and loudspeaker, depending on how far your phone is from you. Earlier this week, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates gave an interview with journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin. During the interview, Gates discussed a lot of topics, including his late friend and sometimes-rival Steve Jobs, climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, and more.
