Target will accept Google Pay and Samsung Pay soon

Enormous United States retailer Target announced today that it is rolling out support for contactless payments to all of its 1,800+ stores across the nation. That means you’ll soon be able to use payment apps like Google Pay and Samsung Pay at checkout. You’ll also be able to use Apple Pay and contactless chips embedded into various credit cards. Target announced the news on its corporate blog. However, it did not give a specific timeline for the rollout.

HTC's metaverse smartphone finally has a reveal date

The company is expected to launch its “metaverse” smartphone on the day. HTC confirmed earlier this year that it was planning to launch a “metaverse phone,” ostensibly focusing on augmented and virtual reality applications. The device was delayed due to supply chain constraints, but it looks like the company is finally ready for a launch.

Insta360 today announced the One R, a modular system that it calls an adaptive action cam. The One R has the ability to capture wide-angle 4K video, wide-angle 4K on a 1-inch sensor, or 5.3K 360-degree footage depending on the mod. It’s an interesting take on the action camera that sees the company erase the line between what action and what 360-degree cameras can do. The battery serves as the base for this system.

Jedi Challenges now lets you have AR lightsaber battles with friends

TL;DR Lenovo is rolling out an update to its Stars Wars: Jedi Challenges title that introduces local multiplayer. Lightsaber Versus Mode is a new feature that will see players battle their friends in AR lightsaber duels. Both players will need a Lenovo Mirage AR Headset, Lightsaber controller and a tracking beacon, costing $199. Lenovo and Disney are rolling out a new mode for their Star Wars: Jedi Challenges game that lets players face off against friends with AR lightsabers.
