Pixel feature drop lands, improves Adaptive Battery

TL;DR Google’s third-ever Pixel feature drop lands today. It comes with some brand new features as well as some tweaks to existing features. Every Pixel phone will get the update except for the original Pixel and Pixel XL. Those two phones no longer receive updates. The biggest update in the Pixel feature drop is an improved Adaptive Battery. Hopefully, this will make your Pixel go longer without a charge. Today, the third Google Pixel feature drop lands.

Slasher season 4 makes itself at home at Shudder

Slasher: Flesh & Blood, the latest entry in the Slasher horror anthology series on Shudder, joins a strong tradition of horror about awful rich people. The last decade has given us gems like You’re Next, Get Out, Mayhem, the Purge franchise, Ready or Not, and plenty more to watch the 1% getting knocked down a peg. (Knives Out and Succession come to mind outside horror too.) In its new home at horror streamer Shudder, Slasher season 4 takes this trope to some fun — and truly vicious — places.

Sony CP-F1L and CP-F2L portable chargers to go on sale in Europe soon

Remember the good ol’ times when you didn’t need to worry about your phone’s battery life every day and you only had to charge it like once every week? Ah, good, good times, but also rudimentary times if you think of what we were using mobile phones for back in the day. Now a smartphone is much more than just a basic portable device for calling and texting people, though on the flipside you need to plug it in once every eight or ten hours of use, which is basically every day.

You prefer 60Hz OLED over high refresh rate LCD

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority OLED vs LCD has been a battle for years now, with both screen technologies possessing their strengths and weaknesses. However, OLED has become the go-to screen tech for flagship phones and some mid-range phones, while LCD screens are usually found on budget and mid-tier phones. We’ve also seen high refresh rate screens in the last few years, offering smoother animations and performance in system menus, supported games, and more.

AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Express to go on sale on November 16 for $100

It’s not unusual for Samsung to be covering all its bases with a smartphone line-up as wide and diverse as possible, but the past few months have brought such an abundance of new devices that it’s hard to keep track and distinguish all the models. That box is officially checked now too, as AT&T has announced the Galaxy Express will go on sale starting November 16. The 4.5-incher will cost $100 on contract, which is affordable we guess, although looking at the specs of this bad boy, it seems a bit steep.

For those in the United States holding out for the Electric Blue Galaxy S5, you’ll be happy to know that the wait is over on August 17th. The Electric Blue Galaxy S5 will be sold exclusively through Best Buy, priced at $99 with a two-year contract on either Verizon, Sprint or AT&T’s network.

Google Wallet can now add any credit card or debit card

Google Wallet promised to replace physical wallets with a virtual wallet that can be accessed from your Android phone. However, the momentum has been slow in the U.S. because carriers are trying their best to avoid using it on the handsets they sell, because they are preparing their own competing solution called Isis. The only carriers in the U.S. that have been friendly to Google Wallet are Sprint and Virgin Mobile, which have adopted a total of six Google Wallet-enabled phones.

HTC One Mini 2 specs, features, and availability announced

Here comes the One Mini 2! Following the successful launch of the One (M8), HTC has now made official the second device in the M8 line, the compact successor to the 2013 One Mini. The original One Mini had a lukewarm reception, due to its relatively high price and middling spec sheet. For the One Mini 2, HTC made a couple of key upgrades, including the addition of a microSD card slot, and arguably improved the design with even more aluminum.
