It wasn’t too long ago that our own Taylor Martin reviewed the sleek Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet, and it seems as though the company has already released it’s followup device. Dubbed the Dell Venue 10 7000, this new Android-powered tablet features similar specifications and build to the Venue 8 7000, but with a few interesting additions.
For starters, the Venue 10 7000 is mostly the same when it comes to specifications.
Although we’ve only heard whispers and rumors leading up to the LG G5’s release, the lack of an official announcement and spec sheet means that we really haven’t had anything solid to lean on. One way that the LG G5 is rumored to deviate from the G4 is that the volume and power buttons are rumored to appear on the device’s side.
Those of you who are thinking this sounds perfectly normal must have missed the last several entries in LG’s smartphone listing.
Earlier this week, we reported on the Ecobee4, a smart thermostat that could also accept voice commands from Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant. Now, GE has announced it will sell a smart desk lamp that will also have Alexa voice support. Pre-orders for the lamp, called The C by GE Sol (yeah, we know it’s weird) will be going live soon.

Business View also lets users check out the interior of notable establishments through a 360-degree interface.

Steam for Chrome OS is finally 100% official. The service will start as an alpha test with only a limited number of Chromebooks supported. Since this is an alpha test, it is most certainly not ready for primetime. Last week, Google mistakenly showed off a presentation slide that appeared to confirm the long-awaited support of Steam on Chromebooks. The presentation mentioned a site people could read with information on how to get started with alpha testing, but no site materialized.
The beta version of Google Maps just received an update giving us a sneak peek at what we can expect to see arrive on the stable version in the near future. These additions include a long-awaited feature that lets you choose to keep your map north-oriented as well as a passive swipe-protection capability that lets Maps interpret deliberate swipes versus accidental ones.
“Keep map north up” is the new feature available in the Navigation settings.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about Samsung’s Clock app was the ability to set any of your audio files as your alarm. After all, who wants to wake up to the same obnoxious tune every morning? Well, the latest update to Google’s own Clock app is finally bringing that feature as well as a few other minor improvements.
