HTC pulls smartphones from major Chinese marketplaces

It just became quite a bit more difficult for Chinese citizens to buy HTC-branded smartphones. According to the company’s official Weibo account (via MySmartPrice), HTC smartphones are no longer listed on TMall and Jingdong (better known as JD.com), two prominent online stores. In its Weibo announcement, the company says that its official HTC online store still has its smartphones listed, and consumers can still visit its physical store in Shenzhen. However, some of its most recent phones are listed as “Out of Stock” on its official site.

New Google reference app helps developers build multi-screen apps

With the recent introduction of Android Wear, Android TV and Android Auto, Google is expanding its ecosystem to as many screen sizes as possible. To do so, Google has created a new reference sample application called the Universal Music Player for developers to use as a reference point.
