Hands-on with the LG Watch Urbane Luxe: Android Wear, deluxe

The new Watch Urbane Luxe has a fancy name and comes in a fancy box. But is it fancy enough to justify a $1200 price tag? At IFA 2015 in Berlin, we’ve met up with LG, who showed us the latest variant of their well-received Android Wear smartwatch series. The Watch Urbane Luxe takes what it’s pretty much a standard Watch Urbane, adds a coating of 23K gold, and an elegant alligator leather band, at a price tag that’s more than three times the regular  version’s.

HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is now available at Verizon for $149.99

The Incredible 4G LTE follows on the footsteps of the 2010 Incredible and 2011 Incredible 2, and is, as its name proudly states, the first in the series to come with 4G LTE connectivity. Although it’s a significant update over the first two Incredible editions, the new 4-incher doesn’t seem like a real winner to us. The Droid comes at a time when Samsung’s Galaxy S3 seems to be heading full speed to the title of “best sold Android smartphone ever”.

OnePlus heard you! New one hand mode in the works

OnePlus is constantly improving Oxygen OS with new features and support for stuff its community members ask for. The custom Android skin is pretty good with updates. Most recently, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro got their Android 10-based Oxygen OS 10.01 update. Now, we hear that a future Oxygen OS version might bring in support for one-handed usage. Replying to a user’s query about one-handed usage, a OnePlus staff member wrote on the company’s forums, “We are working on the one hand mode.

Samsung Dex to lose support for Windows 7, macOS

TL;DR Samsung will stop supporting its Samsung Dex system on Windows 7 and macOS machines. Support will cease in January 2022. Windows 7 users will need to upgrade to Windows 10 or 11. macOS users will need to swap systems. There are several proprietary desktop systems for Android phones. They allow you to reconfigure the UI of your Android device so it looks and acts like a traditional desktop.

Samsung Galaxy Grand in India receives software update with Group Play

While we expected the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 to receive certain features of the company’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S4, who would have thought that one of the first smartphones to receive such an update would be the Samsung Galaxy Grand. Well, this update includes just one feature, but it’s something. The many Samsung Galaxy Grand owners in India will be receiving a small OTA update that brings the Group Play feature to the 5-inch mid-ranger.

Save $250 on Google Pixelbooks at Google Store and Best Buy

The Google Pixelbook is currently being sold with $250 off at various retailers (as spotted by Droid Life). This means that the base model now only costs $749 dollars, while the top model has been brought down to $1,399.  The base model comes with 8GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5 processor, and 128GB of SSD storage. There is also a model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage (for $949) as well as a top-end model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

T-Mobile will accept your old OnePlus devices as trade-ins

TL;DR Starting November 1, T-Mobile will accept trade-ins of OnePlus devices towards a new OnePlus 6T. This applies to ANY OnePlus device, from the OnePlus One to the OnePlus 6. Your trade-in will very likely net you a $300 credit, regardless of which device you turn in. At the OnePlus 6T launch event in New York City, the company formally announced its new partnership with T-Mobile. The Uncarrier will be the exclusive United States home to the brand new smartphone — the first time a wireless carrier has carried a OnePlus device.
