We’ve all been there. You step blinking out of the movie theater, totally forgetting that you grabbed a matinee so it’s still daylight outside, and you realize something else has slipped your mind: you have no idea where you parked.
It could be worse. An afternoon downtown turns into the least fun memory puzzle ever as you struggle to recall what parking lot you ditched your ride in. The parking meter keeps ticking as everyone in your party becomes increasingly hungry and angry.
Update, November 12: Over the past few hours, multiple Pixel 4 users have reported the arrival of the November patch on their devices. Specifically, a user running his unlocked Pixel 4 on AT&T’s network reported that the update brought his version number to QD1A.190821.007.A3. We’ll keep an eye out for more reports.

Taiwanese tech company Polytron Technologies has released some information about its prototype transparent smartphone. From the pictures you can see that sadly it’s not entirely transparent, the camera, SD card and some of the electronics are still clearly visible. Even so, it’s not a bad start.
Whilst it’s debatable exactly how useful a transparent smartphone will be (I often misplace my perfectly opaque handset and I’d hate to have to search an almost invisible device), I’m actually quite interested in some of the technologies used in the prototype, mainly the transparent touch screen.
Initially, Snapchat Spectacles were only available for purchase from pop-up vending machines across the US. Then in February, the company started selling them on their own website. Those of you still thinking of buying a pair can now also get them on Amazon.
The price hasn’t changed, which means that Spectacles still retail for $129.99. There are three color options available which are Black, Coral, and Teal.
For those of you unfamiliar with Snapchat Spectacles, they are basically a pair of fashion sunglasses with a built-in camera that lets you record videos up to 30 seconds long and then share them on the social media platform.

Xiaomi’s portless phone may just be a concept, but there’s little doubt that it ruffled some feathers. The absence of basics like buttons or a side frame is audacious even for a company well-known for pushing boundaries. Virtually all the ‘rules’ of phone design have been thrown away, and that’s leaving some people livid.
As with the portless phone prototypes from before, though, Xiaomi’s example begs a question: who really asked for this?
Update (11/15): Samsung had begun rolling out the second Oreo beta firmware to Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices in the US, but it has since been pulled. Samsung has issued a beta notice to program subscribers stating that it has “identified an issue of “com.android.phone” crash”.
This tallies with a slew of Reddit users that are complaining that their devices have stopped receiving network signal after installing the latest beta firmware.

HMD Global has trademarked the Nokia 8 Sirocco name in a bid to resurrect old but iconic Nokia brands.
