Until actual production units hit the market, benchmark scores are the best guidance we have. That’s why I was excited to learn that the new Tegra 4 system-on-a-chip has been put through its paces in a suite of benchmark applications, and the results are nothing short of amazing.

It's official: Google will shut down Play Music by the end of 2020

Other countries will switch in October, but data will stay until December. Google has repeatedly warned that it’s shutting down Play Music in favor of YouTube Music, and now the end is nearly at hand. The internet pioneer has revealed that YouTube Music will officially replace its Google Play counterpart by the end of 2020.

Nokia hiring talent, preparing for its return to mobile

Nokia has been very clear about its aspirations to return to the mobile market as soon as their non-compete deal with Microsoft ends. They won’t exactly be making smartphones on their own, as they sold their mobile division to the Redmond-based giant.  Instead, they seek to license the Nokia brand, which still holds some power. Nokia was, after all, the #1 phone maker in the world once; many of us still hold memories of our first cellular phone coming from this manufacturer.

Lenovo makes the 5.3-inch S920 phone official, available soon for $350

Well, that was quick. It was only a couple of weeks ago that we first heard about the Lenovo S920, courtesy of unofficial sources, and now the 5.3-incher is official. And due out very soon in China. The phone’s leakers proved spot-on with all their revealed specs and features, meaning the S920 has only two real selling points. There’s all that screen real estate, if you’re one of those folks that thinks bigger is automatically better, and on-board Android 4.

Samsung is testing out Marshmallow with Galaxy S6 users in the UK and South Korea, but it looks like some American users of the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Edge+ on Verizon and AT&T can also join in the fun. Desay announces $160 sapphire screen phone in China

Although there has been lots of hype about sapphire screens, there has been little in the way of actual products. There are a few phones out there with sapphire screens, like a sapphire version of the Huawei Ascend P7, but that is about it. However sapphire screens could be poised to gain in popularity as China Mobile, China’s largest mobile carrier by subscribers, has started taking pre-orders for the Desay Magical Mirror X5.

Disney banning selfie sticks starting June 30th

Disney may be where dreams come true, but if your dreams involve taking selfies with the aid of an extendable stick, you best start making different plans for your mobile photography. A new report states the world-famous theme parks will start banning selfie sticks beginning next week. All American theme parks will start enforcing the new rule starting June 30th, with the rest of the world following on July 1st. The news comes courtesy of a leaked internal email, which was later confirmed to the press by Disney.
