Slasher season 4 makes itself at home at Shudder

Slasher: Flesh & Blood, the latest entry in the Slasher horror anthology series on Shudder, joins a strong tradition of horror about awful rich people. The last decade has given us gems like You’re Next, Get Out, Mayhem, the Purge franchise, Ready or Not, and plenty more to watch the 1% getting knocked down a peg. (Knives Out and Succession come to mind outside horror too.) In its new home at horror streamer Shudder, Slasher season 4 takes this trope to some fun — and truly vicious — places.

You'll soon be able to say "Hey Google" to summon Google Assistant on your phone

Since Android 4.4 KitKat in 2013, the only way to pull up Google‘s virtual assistant with your voice is with the “OK Google” hotword. That changed a bit when the search giant launched Google Home, which lets you summon Google Assistant with both “OK Google” and “Hey Google.” That functionality seems to be slowly trickling down to phones, though it might not be available for your phone just yet. I say that because the Hey Google hotword is not yet available on my Galaxy S8 Plus or Pixel XL.

Bluetooth-powered Noke brings the padlock into the 21st century

A typical padlock tends to use one of two methods for granting access to a person: a key, or through the use of a combination. For those looking for a 21st century solution, the Noke instead turns to Bluetooth LE technology. This means you no longer need to keep a physical key around or remember a combination. Even better, the second you click on the Noke it automatically looks for a device with a compatible wireless ‘key’ and opens up without you ever having to take out your phone.

Lowest price ever on the Amazon Alexa Development Bundle

Let’s be honest, voice assistants are cool. Speaking to Alexa, Siri, or Cortana, is probably the closest thing most of us will get to having our own robot butler. But, have you ever considered Alexa development? You might just like asking Alexa to tell you dad jokes, but there’s value in delving deeper into how this hot tech trend works. For hobbyists, you could build and publish your own Alexa apps.

New Misfit Shine 2 is stronger, larger and more connected than ever

Misfit’s high-end wearable has just been succeeded by the Shine 2, a new tracker that is expected to really turn things around for fans of these devices. Trust us when we tell you this is no incremental update. The device is bigger, stronger, faster and more connected than any of their other offerings. In fact, it’s a pretty awesome wearable for the price. And though it may not have all the fancy bells and whistles Android Wear can handle, what it does do it does very well.

New Real Racing 3 video shows hands-on gameplay footage

Real Racing 3 is on its way to Google Play on February 28th. For those of you that are impatiently awaiting its release, we now have actual hands-on gameplay from DroidGamers to help tide you over until the game arrives. What makes the video below any different from the other diary videos and footage we’ve seen? The biggest difference is that this is “real world” playing, not the carefully orchestrated video clips that developers generally release.

Project Treble will work with Google Pixel, could it mean longer support?

Google Pixel review: a technical deep dive Reviews While Android has seen drastic improvements and dramatic changes over the last few years, one area that still plagues Google’s OS has been the speed of updates. Unless you have a Nexus or Pixel device, the chances are you’ll receive Google’s updates a few months after they’re officially released. That’s in part due to manufacturers’ custom skins and carrier testing, but as Google outlined a week ago, it also has something to do with chipmakers.
