Realme 7 series announced: Two very different propositions

While the Realme 7 Pro is seemingly the same device that launched in India in September, the Realme 7 does feature one significant change made to the camera department. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Brown edition appears in a new Samsung video that’s designed to showcase some of the Samsung flagship’s signature features. GE's new smart lamp is also a smart assistant, thanks to Alexa

Earlier this week, we reported on the Ecobee4, a smart thermostat that could also accept voice commands from Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant. Now, GE has announced it will sell a smart desk lamp that will also have Alexa voice support. Pre-orders for the lamp, called The C by GE Sol (yeah, we know it’s weird) will be going live soon. Google lays out how to try Steam for Chrome OS

Since this is an alpha test, it is most certainly not ready for primetime. Last week, Google mistakenly showed off a presentation slide that appeared to confirm the long-awaited support of Steam on Chromebooks. The presentation mentioned a site people could read with information on how to get started with alpha testing, but no site materialized.

Google Maps looks like it’s getting accidental swipe protection, parking difficulty ratings

The beta version of Google Maps just received an update giving us a sneak peek at what we can expect to see arrive on the stable version in the near future. These additions include a long-awaited feature that lets you choose to keep your map north-oriented as well as a passive swipe-protection capability that lets Maps interpret deliberate swipes versus accidental ones. “Keep map north up” is the new feature available in the Navigation settings.
