Most of you don't use virtual/extended RAM on your phone

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority The virtual or extended RAM feature has been available as an option on smartphones for a while now, using a portion of your storage as virtual memory of sorts. Some of the more prominent manufacturers offering this feature include OnePlus, Oppo, Samsung, Vivo, and Xiaomi. Is this something you actually use, though? That’s what we asked in our standalone poll article last week, and here are the results of that survey.

After the unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge received the Android Nougat update in the US last week, questions were once again raised as to the whereabouts of the same update for the Galaxy S7. Thankfully, reports are now coming in that the unlocked S7 is also receiving it. Why the quad-core Snapdragon 820 won't bring an end to the core wars

2015 has been an interesting year for mobile processing technology and the overarching trend in products has been wide-spread adoption of hexa-core and octa-core processors. The Snapdragon 810, 808 and Exynos 7420 are powering a range of flagship smartphones this year, while MediaTek announced the world’s first deca-core mobile SoC with its Helio X20 a few months back. Qualcomm is looking to buck this trend with its new Snapdragon 820, which is scheduled for an early 2016 appearance in mobile products, including the Galaxy S7.

Apps are a tricky beast: unlike the video game industry, which is by-and-large comprised of consumers who actively seek to play games, and have purchased hardware with the explicit purpose of doing just that, the mobile industry doesn’t work quite that way. Many “customers” are in fact, casual users who are randomly looking around a curated digital storefront and find something that may be worth a minute or two of their time.
