TL;DR A new leak dishes out all the details for a new $79 Google Pixel Stand. The new accessory allegedly charges the Pixel 6 phones at 23W, a nice boost over the older model. It will also charge other Qi-compatible devices, but Pixels will see the most benefits. We still have more than a week to go before we see Google unveil the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

Texas Instruments investors ask for pullback from mobile chip business

Texas Instruments is one of the biggest manufacturers of mobile chips, competing against rivals such as Qualcomm, Nvidia, Broadcom, and Samsung to provide the silicon that powers our mobile devices. Among others, the Dallas-based company designs and manufactures baseband chips (for 3G and 4G communication), wireless connectivity chips (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and SoCs (integrated application processors, such as the OMAP 4 and OMAP 5 series). However, Texas Instruments hasn’t been doing very well in the mobile business lately.

Niantic is updating Pokémon Go with a new gameplay mode for ARCore-enabled handsets. Called AR+, the new upgrade brings significant improvements to the way Pokémon behave and are caught.

Tinder wants to spice up your love life with AI and geolocation features

Tinder’s development team is working on a number of new features intended to enhance the dating experience through location services and artificial intelligence. In an investor call yesterday, Greg Blatt, CEO of Tinder’s parent company Match, said that the next goal for Tinder is to go beyond just “a swiping machine”, and instead “blur [the] lines” between digital and real-life dating. Star Trek: Lower Decks is back for season two on Paramount Plus, and the animated series is as good as ever. The “lower decks” crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos continues to vie for the attention of their superiors in the new season, as Boimler adjusts to life aboard the bridge of the U.S.S. Titan. Paramount shared the first five episodes of Star Trek: Lower Decks season 2 with Android Authority ahead of the new season, which premieres August 12 on Paramount Plus.

Ikea Place first launched in September 2017 on iOS. As much furniture as Ikea has designed and manufactured over the years, the Swedish company is no stranger to integrating technology into its business. Just look at its tables that incorporate wireless charging, or its platform-agnostic smart lighting.
