Google Camera update hints at upcoming Pixel 4a, 24fps video recording

A recent Google Camera APK teardown done by XDA Developers hints at Google’s next mid-range device and the possible inclusion of 24fps video recording. The teardown was of the Google Camera’s latest update — version 7.3.017 — and it also includes a few minor tweaks to the app interface and functionality. Most notably, this app update contains references to Google’s upcoming Pixel 4a. The codenames sunfish, redfin, and bramble appear next to a string titled “pixel_20_mid_range.

New details on Call of Duty: Mobile emerge

Update, May 21, 2019 (5:16PM EST): Activision confirmed today that Call of Duty: Mobile features a Battle Royale mode. The mode lets up to 100 players play on a map that features settings from previous Call of Duty titles. Single, two-person, and four-person playlists are currently being play-tested, though we don’t know if all three playlists will be available from day one. Before you start a Battle Royale match, you can pick certain loadout elements — these can include weapon camos, item skins, and more — and class.

Red Alert Online revives the franchise on mobile devices in China

Mobile gaming giant Tencent has just announced a deal with Electronic Arts and Aiyou Interactive Entertainment to release Red Alert Online, a new game from the classic Command & Conquer series. It will be the first new game in the franchise in nearly six years. There are copycat titles available, but Red Alert Online will be the first officially licensed Command & Conquer game on Android. A previous Red Alert title was made back in 2009 for iOS, but it never made its way into the Android ecosystem.

Huawei P30 cameras: All the new tech explained

For starters, a quick recap of the specifications. Both models feature a 40MP “SuperSpectrum” main sensor with f/1.6 aperture, designed for better light capture than its predecessor. Xiaomi responds to US blacklist, denies Chinese military connection

US-based investors will need to remove any and all investments with the Chinese company. Xiaomi has denied any affiliation with the Chinese military and has since won a case to halt the move. Update: March 15, 2021 (1:20 AM ET): Xiaomi has won a case to block its inclusion on a blacklist reserved for companies with alleged Chinese military ties.

You won't own your iPhone with Apple's new subscription service

It’s believed that you won’t fully own an iPhone using this plan. Update: April 4, 2022 (2:10 AM ET): Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has now addressed the iPhone subscription program in his weekly newsletter. The journalist specifically noted that you won’t actually own your device if you subscribe to this program.

Google Assistant is better than Siri in every tested category – except one

TL;DR In a new experiment, Google Assistant beat Siri, Alexa, and Cortana in all tested categories — except for one. That one category is curiously smartphone voice commands, in which Siri emerged the victor. However, Google Assistant is far and away the overall winner, head-and-shoulders above the competition. Now, we have new results from a different company – Loup Ventures – that comes to the same conclusion: Google Assistant trounces Siri, Cortana, and Alexa to emerge the clear victor.
