Huawei announces the MediaPad M6 tablet series

In addition to the Nova 5 series, Huawei today also announced (via NDTV) the MediaPad M6 series. Coming in 8.4- and 10.8-inch sizes, the devices are the latest entries in Huawei’s line of Android tablets. Apart from the display size, the 8.4- and 10.8-inch MediaPad M6 differ in battery size — 6,100mAh for the 8.4-inch variant, and 7,500mAh for the 10.8-inch variant. There’s also a weight difference, but that’s to be expected of tablets with different sizes.

Redmi Note 5 Pro gets 1080p/60fps recording via MIUI 10

TL;DR The latest MIUI 10 beta includes an option for 1080p video recording at 60fps for the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Up until now, Redmi Note 5 Pro owners could record up to 1080p video at 30fps. The update does not include a setting for 4K video recording. Even though Xiaomi bills the Redmi Note 5 Pro as “India’s camera beast,” the phone does not include options to record in 4K or in 1080p at 60fps.

Peter Chou is no longer an employee of HTC

Peter Chou cofounded HTC in 1997. He took the helm of the company in 2004. He turned it into the rising star of the nascent smartphone industry. And he oversaw its slow death after 2011. Now he is officially out at HTC. Following a rumor that surfaced yesterday in Chinese-language media, HTC officially confirmed that Peter Chou has left all positions at the company last year. Chou stepped down as CEO in March 2015, ceding the role to HTC chairwoman – and cofounder – Cher Wang.

Speaking during the Nintendo Treehouse E3 2019 livestream (around the 25:26 mark), Game Freak (the studio behind Pokémon) director Junichi Masuda explained that unlike previous main series Pokémon games, in Sword and Shield you will only be able to catch, train, and battle Pokémon found natively in the games’ new Galar region.
