Microdisplay by MicroOLED makes the Retina display look old

Screen resolution and pixel density have been some of the primary weapons used on the battleground for mobile device superiority in today’s world market. Apple drew first blood with a 960×640 pixels resolution with the “Retina” 326 ppi pixel density debuted with the iPhone 4, only to later be bested by the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (1280×720 pixels and 316 ppi) and the recently announced HTC One X. In the high-profile competition between smartphone makers, microdisplay technology (used in the electronic view finders found on some cameras and medical-devices) has largely been ignored, even if it’s millions of pixels ahead anything available on a smartphone at this moment.

Moto X Pure Edition 64 GB, $250 at Best Buy

The Moto X Pure is on sale at Best Buy for $250 for the 64 GB version. The handset has recently been selling on Amazon for $325, which would net you a saving of $75, though Best Buy states that regular price is currently pegged at $399. The black variant appears to have sold out already, however the unlocked White and Bamboo versions are still in stock as of the time of publication.

Sony Xperia C4 arrives in the US via Amazon

Back near the beginning of June, Sony began shipping out its new Xperia C4 smartphone to various countries around the world, but the US was sadly left off of the launch scheduled. Fortunately, the international version of the handset just has shown up on Amazon US. Much like the HTC One E9 and M9+ just last week, third party retailers have set-up shop at Amazon to import the Xperia C4 into the US.

A company patent describes the phone with a rear-facing pop-up module extends out in four steps. The device also uses an under-display selfie shooter. In the world of pop-up cameras, this is probably a first. Chinese vendor Vivo is exploring a smartphone with not one but multiple cameras that pop out of the frame.

Telegram's latest update makes unlimited video calls/live streams a reality

It also brings improved forwarding controls and the ability to quickly jump to the next unread channel. The Telegram team has been hard at work on bringing various features to the service in 2021. Verizon's cheaper unlimited plan adds coverage in Mexico and Canada
