Chase Pay officially launches in a crowded field of mobile payment apps

There’s Android Pay, Samsung Pay and even Walmart Pay for Android users to choose from for their mobile payment needs. Now the U.S. bank Chase is entering this already crowded field with its own Chase Pay app and system. People who own a Chase credit, debit or “Liquid” card can store it in the app and use old fashioned QR codes to pay for items at those two retailers, with Touch ID support coming in a future update.

As you have probably already guessed, the N2 Lite is GooPhone’s clone of the Galaxy Note 2. iPhone fingerprint sensor in the display? Maybe in 2020.

According to a new rumor stemming from Economic Daily News (via MacRumors), Apple could be in talks with Qualcomm and other suppliers to once again introduce an iPhone fingerprint sensor. However, this time the sensor could be under the phone’s display. If true, it would be the first time ever that an iPhone has had an in-display fingerprint sensor. Starting with the iPhone X, Apple went all-in on its proprietary Face ID, which relies solely on facial recognition as a biometric security agent.

What if smartphones didn't have selfie cameras at all?

Woah, hold on. Before you head to the comments below and call me a moron, hear me out. I know this is a ridiculous suggestion. Selfie cameras have been a staple of smartphone design for the best part of a decade for a reason. Taking it away would be like removing the battery, or the display, or the headphone ja… okay, bad example. My point is, I know merely hinting at the idea of ditching selfie cameras will be contentious.

That HTC Vive smartphone video? Take it with a grain of salt (Updated)

Update, 2:52PM EST: The video was taken down from Vimeo and Shaun Saperstein’s website (you can still see it in on Evan Blass’ Twitter feed). That makes it seem like the video was not supposed to be publicized. Original post, 09:10AM EST: HTC’s smartphone business is in dire need of a reboot, but the company’s other big venture – virtual reality – is actually growing steadily. It wouldn’t be surprising therefore that HTC would want to use the Vive brand to boost its smartphone lineup.
