If you have been hoping for a mobile game that offers the same kind of military real-time strategy gameplay that was found in the classic Command & Conquer PC series, your wishes have been granted this week. Publisher Kixeye has released War Commander: Rogue Assault, an ambitious mobile RTS game for Android and iOS. The team behind the game was lead by Louis Castle, the co-creator of the Command & Conquer franchise.
It looks like Apple is making some changes to allow content from its platforms to be shown on more third-party devices. Nowhere is that more evident than this week’s reveal at CES 2019 from Sony. In its press event, the company stated that its lineup of smart televisions, all with Google’s Android TV OS installed, will soon add support for Apple’s AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.
In its press release, Sony said the update will be released later in 2019 for its Z9G Series, A9G Series, and X950G Series TVs.
On May 15, 2019, the US government added Huawei to its now-infamous “Entity List” of companies that are barred from buying American products. Ostensibly, the reason is a vaguely defined, but hard-to-dismiss risk to national security.
This was no mere bureaucratic nuisance. Within days, all hell broke loose: Google confirmed it had suspended Huawei’s license, and in quick succession, many other companies and organizations cut ties with Huawei, the world’s top telecom company.
If DayZ was a bit too serious for you, and you are a fan of furry animals, then GoatZ, from the developers of the massively buggy Goat Simulator, may be the game for you.
TodayGoatZ has invaded Steam as an expansion pack to Goat Simulator, and iOS and Android as a stand alone game. On the Google Play store, GoatZ is priced at $4.99, the same as Goat Simulator, and ships with more bugs than we prefer to count.
The good news is that after five months of wait, Alcatel is finally launching the Idol 4s in the US on its official website on August 3rd. Those who pre-order will be able to snag up this beautifully designed smartphone for only $349.
Since the launch of the iPhone 5, we compared the device with the best-selling Android device of the year, the Galaxy S3, from various points of view (including drop tests, video comparison, benchmarks and display performance) but we’re yet to compare the sales of the two smartphones.
Luckily, a new study from analytics company Localytics reveals that Galaxy S3 sales are still up and growing from week to week. The company has noticed particular Galaxy S3 sale spikes in late August and mid-September tied to Apple’s $1 billion court win against Samsung and Apple’s iPhone 5 launch, respectively.
Android 10 is here! Well, it is if you happen to have a Google Pixel or an Essential Phone. The rest of us have to wait a little longer, but if you happen to be a OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro owner you can get a taste of what’s to come with the Android 10 OxygenOS open beta.
Android 10 review: The most personal Android yet
Reviews
I’ve been running the first open beta on a OnePlus 7 Pro for a few days now and there are a bunch of fairly significant changes along with some more subtle tweaks, most of which are expected to carry over to the stable release of OxygenOS based on Android 10 in the near future.

Competition is stiff, however, and the Honor 20 Pro isn’t flawless. And, as crazy as it sounds, geopolitical tensions have also thrown a spanner in the works. Should you make Honor 20 Pro your new phone?
Here’s Android Authority’s Honor 20 Pro review.
When you hear the name ClockworkMod, you instantly associate it with the custom recovery that almost all Android phones are using. Though ClockworkMod Recovery is certainly very handy, that isn’t the only thing Koushik Dutta, also known as ClockworkMod, has contributed to the Android community. ROM Manager, Bionic Recovery Bootstrap, ClockworkMod Tether (no root), and DeskSMS are just some of the apps he’s offering on the Google Play Store.
Some of you may already be familiar with his other apps, but DeskSMS, in particular, is an app worth noting because it allows users to send texts from their device’s phone number via Google Talk, Gmail, or their browser.
