Last week Google introduced the first four Android apps for Chromebooks, promising more apps would be on their way in the near future. While four apps is a start, what if you could take just about any Android app and install it on your Chrome OS device? That’s exactly what developer Vladikoff’s ‘hack’ lets you do. The new hack uses a small Javascript script, which basically lets you take any Android APK and package it up for side-loading (for lack of a better term) onto the Chromebook.

Netflix has been available for those in the UK for some time now. In fact, an Android app launched way back in January of this year. But while a regular Netflix for Android app has been available by way of Google Play, that hasn’t yet been of benefit for those sporting a Kindle Fire. Of course, we cannot fault Netflix all that bad considering the Kindle Fire has only been available for a few days now.

5 things Nokia needs to do for its 2017 Android smartphone launch

In September 2010, Nokia announced it had hired Stephen Elop, formerly of Microsoft. In a surprise move, he became the new CEO for the Finland-based mobile phone company. Then in February 2011, Elop announced that Nokia had signed a partnership with Microsoft to make Windows Phone its primary smartphone operating system, ahead of Nokia’s own Symbian OS. At the time, Nokia was still the biggest maker of mobile phones, but with the launch of the iPhone and the Android OS a few years earlier, the company knew that it needed to make some changes to stay competitive.
