Acer ConceptD 7 offers plenty of power for creators

Last year Acer introduced its ConceptD range of laptops, built with creators and designers in mind. Ahead of the official kickoff of CES 2020, Acer is back with several new ConceptD devices, as well as refreshed Spin laptops, a trio of new monitors, and two new TravelMate laptops. Boid Twitter client ends official development, goes open source

While official development of the Boid Twitter client may have ended, there is a glimmer of hope for fans of the app, as the development team have decided to turn Boid into an open source project. Boid is dead. Long live Boid. In an unofficial statement made a few days before the official announcement, developer Graham Macphee said “In my mind, Boid is over. It was a success. And now its job is done.

Hangouts iOS app gets VoIP voice calls via Google Voice

Google’s Hangouts iOS app has been updated to offer VoIP voice calls via Google Voice, a feature that’s not available on the Android Hangouts app yet. The iOS Hangouts update brings voice call support to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. On top of that, calls made to the U.S. and Canada are free of charge, with users being able to make and receive calls by using their Google Voice number.

The Moto X's camera app is now available to download!

It seems like the Moto X hype train can not be stopped. Just when we thought that the release of a new Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean had stolen a little bit of the limelight, the Moto X has roared back into the spotlight. Android Police have gotten their hands on the camera app for the Moto X and shared the APK for all of us to enjoy. In this build, the application is almost fully functional although the double-flick wrist gesture is obviously not working.

Google Contacts now available on any Android phone with Lollipop or above

Google has now opened up the Google Contacts app to any Android smartphone running Android Lollipop or above. The app was previously exclusive to Lollipop devices from Google’s own range of handsets, like the Pixel and Nexus range, but, as of version 2.1.2.164543808, that is no longer the case. The Google Contacts app includes backup and sync for your contacts via the Google Cloud, making them accessible on any of your devices, as well as a straightforward interface typical of Google’s homegrown apps.

Karma. Incarnation 1 is a psychedelic point-and-click adventure game now on Android

Indie title Karma. Incarnation 1 has been officially released in the Google Play Store. The multi-award winning point-and-click adventure game was first launched on Steam last year and has since received plenty of critical acclaim. It made its way to Android just yesterday, with an iOS version also coming soon. Similar to the likes of Machinarium, Karma. Incarnation 1 doesn’t feature any text-based dialog or information, rather, it’s more like a picture-book, with the images telling the story.

The rivalry between Samsung and Apple has reached an unprecedented level over the past year, but while Samsung seems to have found the perfect recipe for the smartphone market, the Galaxy Tab line was not nearly as successful in taking on the Apple iPad. Galaxy S3 to be launched on May 22: Leaked photo

Now this is the kind of news we like to hear – a thread just popped on Reddit, with what seems to be a press photo of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The image contains a lot of juicy details, including a supposed Galaxy S3 release date: May 22, at the Samsung Unpacked event in London. The May 22 date fits perfectly with earlier bits of news, including Samsung’s statement that the Galaxy S3 will debut sometimes in the first part of the year, closer to the actual availability of the product.
