Martian Watches announced it ceased operations and closed the company. The smartwatch maker was unable to gather enough funds to complete production of its mVoice G2. Martian was founded in 2007 and was notable for sticking a small display in analog watchfaces. U.S.-based smartwatch maker Martian told Kickstarter backers that the company will cease operations after it failed to raise enough money, reported Android Police.
According to the message sent to backers, Martian was able to raise over $276,766 after deductions for certain fees toward its mVoice G2 smartwatch.
One of Google’s biggest announcements in the first day of the I/O event was the Nexus Q media player device, meant as more of a competitor to the Sonos media player than to a set top box like Apple TV.
