Google brings more beautiful wallpapers to your phone or Mac

If you’re a fan of Google’s “Daily Wallpaper” feature baked inside of the official “Wallpapers” app but find yourself drifting towards Apple’s desktop ecosystem, you’re in luck. Google put up a blog post today detailing the beautiful photos that users upload to its Google+ social network, letting the world know that some of these images would soon be available for your Android device as well as your Mac. Those who use Apple’s desktop computers will have the opportunity to download the new Featured Photos Screensaver for Mac, which grabs high resolution photos selected from the Google+ community and sets it as your wallpaper for while you’re away.

Here's a real-life look at the Motorola Razr 3

TL;DR Prominent leaker Evan Blass has posted a video clip that appears to show a real-life Motorola Razr 3. In the clip, someone folds a powered-on device in half. The phone looks a lot like the Razr 5G (aka Razr 2) with some subtle differences. In the world of foldable phones, one name reigns supreme: Samsung. However, there are certainly other players on the field, one of which being Motorola.

iPhone 13 could finally follow Android OEMs with always-on display

David Imel / Android Authority TL;DR Apple could reportedly offer always-on display functionality on the iPhone 13 series. This feature displays info on the phone screen when you’re not using it. The iPhone maker would be years behind Android rivals in offering this option. The always-on display (AOD) has been a staple on various Android phones for years now, with the likes of Google, Samsung, and others offering this feature.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra leaks in bronze color

TL;DR The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra just appeared on the Russian version of Samsung’s own website. The pictures were quickly removed, but not before Max Weinbach got them. The photos show the Note 20 Ultra in a very pretty Mystic Bronze. We expect Samsung to launch the Galaxy Note 20 series in August, which is only a month away now, incredibly. However, it looks like Sammy got a little trigger-happy with the new Galaxy Note 20 Ultra as it just leaked the device on one of its own sites (which you can still see as of publishing).

This smartphone mode could save you from drunk-texting your ex

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR A little-known Chinese brand has patented a drunk mode for its smartphones. This would block certain apps and restrict specific functions. The mode would require sobriety verification to disable it. Using a smartphone while drunk isn’t necessarily the wisest decision, as it could result in you contacting an ex, posting an embarrassing video, and more. We’ve seen some developers try to combat this situation with apps that prevent drunk texting and other intoxicated escapades, but it looks like a little-known Chinese manufacturer is working on a drunk mode for its smartphones.

Honor View 10, Honor 7X, 6X, and Huawei Mate 10 Pro all on sale

Amazon Prime Day is over, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still some awesome deals on smartphones out there. If you dig deep, you can find one for sure. But instead of one, how about four? We found four terrific deals on a set of Huawei phones in which you can save up to $300. Let’s run through them all. First up, we have the highly-reviewed Huawei Mate 10 Pro. This device was actually our overall best smartphone of the year in 2017, so that’s saying something.

How iSIM could turn phones into the ultimate Internet ID

Most modern smartphones still support the classic SIM card (well, the nano variant at least), but a gradually growing number of phones and other consumer gadgets are starting to support eSIM. We might not be too far away from yet another change in SIM tech, as devices could soon start using iSIM. Earlier this year, Arm unveiled its vision for the iSIM – an integrated SIM that fits into a device’s system-on-a-chip. In the future, along with a CPU, GPU, LTE or 5G modem, your next phone SoC could also include the SIM card built inside it too.

Images and video of Google Sooner, the first Android reference device

If you had fun with the images of that early prototype of a Google phone we showed you a couple of weeks ago, you should prepare yourselves for something even more “special” today. Developer Steven Troughton-Smith got his hands on the first ever “Android reference device” and we are now excited to show you a few high-resolution photos that document Android’s early days. The Google Sooner, aka the HTC EXCA 300, wasn’t ever officially released, but it’s interesting to see how much head work Google managed to do between 2007, when this device was in the works, and October 2008, when the HTC Dream (or the T-Mobile G1) hit the market.

Need a phone stand? Here's how to build one yourself!

There are two factors in my life that lead to my DIY projects. First and foremost, I’m cheap. Hey, I don’t hide it. Second, my father is a carpenter, and I grew up building things all my life, often out of things that weren’t designed to be what they ended up as. For reference, see the solid core door that is currently in my kitchen as a rolling counter. Having kids in this day and age generally (though not necessarily) means that you will have small eyeballs watching screens.
