Volta 2.0: one charger for all your devices

What if you didn’t have to keep all those cables? What if you could just use one to charge all of your mobile devices? Good news: you already can. Meet the Volta Charger 2.0 magnetic cable. If you’ve used older MacBooks from Apple, you may remember MagSafe. The power connector attached magnetically to the MacBook, so if a person accidentally brushed up against the cord, it could break away cleanly from the socket without breaking the cord, or sending your MacBook flying into the air.

Some Google Pixels miss switch to daylight savings time due to bug

Robert Triggs / Android Authority TL;DR Some Google Pixel users reported that their phones didn’t switch to Daylight Savings Time. It seems like a bug related to the use of network-provided time. Daylight savings time started in the US and Canada this past weekend, but it seems some Google Pixel phones didn’t actually make the switch due to a peculiar bug. It didn’t appear to be restricted to any specific model either, as owners of the Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4 series, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5 all chimed in to report the issue.

As promised, Google  will open the registration process for its I/O developer conference today at 4PM PST, but unlike past years, this time there’s no need to rush to reserve a ticket. Google has changed the registration process in order to avoid the virtual stampedes from the past years, when technical glitches and the sheer number of users trying to secure a ticket caused widespread frustration. This year, Google is assigning tickets through a random draw, giving all would-be attendees that registered through April 18 equal chances at buying a ticket.
