Did Xiaomi pull a fast one with Poco F2 Pro pricing?

Xiaomi said the Poco F2 Pro will retail for €499 (~$559) in Europe, but it looks like the company may have been less than forthcoming about actual pricing. According to NotebookCheck, the phone’s real price actually starts somewhat higher. The outlet noted that Xiaomi Germany’s website lists the Poco F2 Pro starting price at €599 (~$671). It’s also worth noting that Xiaomi Spain currently sells the base model for €529, but machine-translation suggests that the €499 price will go into effect on June 6.

The company hinted at a problem with one of the components, that it discovered too late. “For competitive and supplier relations reasons we are not in a position to communicate the specifics of the issue that led to this decision. However, what we can share is that the hardware issue was related to a new advanced component that we had incorporated in the device that had never been used in an LG wearable device before.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 available in the UK, only in Samsung Experience Store for now

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is now available in the UK, but only at the Samsung Experience Store at Westfield Stratford City in London, for the moment. That’s just for now, since Samsung’s press release says the other retail channels will be used to sell the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean tablet. There’s even better news for those opting to purchase it from the Experience Store starting with April 15 (for a limited time), as they’ll get over £60 worth of pre-loaded content on the tablet, including a £20 voucher for the Samsung Learning Hub, a subscription the The Times, an AVG security solution, 50GB of Dropbox for two years, a couple of games, plus some other goodies.

A 'mid-range' Pixel 5 actually makes total sense

The “Ace” moniker comes from an Oppo smartphone series with the same name. Update: April 12, 2022 (1:41 AM ET): Tipster Mukul Sharma has found more evidence suggesting that the OnePlus Ace is indeed coming and will launch in India sometime in the future.

Some users can get Duo video calls even if the app isn't installed
