Lenovo IdeaPad K1 gets Android 4.0 update, casual users may want to steer clear

Joining the drove of Honeycomb tablets that were released in 2011, Lenovo’s IdeaPad K1 became the company’s first foray in the Android tablet market. A year later, it looks like Lenovo is  ready to drop support for the K1, but not without first giving away some parting gift. Lenovo is releasing a basic and non-customized Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the IdeaPad K1, which won’t come with the company’s launcher, pre-installed apps, and even Google Play Store.

Green Dot introduces "real" smartphone banking with GoBank

There has not been any real internet bank. At least not until now. Even if you can use PayPal, Passbook or Google Wallet to pay for purchase online or on-site, money has to come from somewhere, which is usually a credit card or even your PayPal balance (which itself comes from a card or bank account). Green Dot, a company that provides prepaid Visa debit cards, has announced a smartphone app which serves as a bank in itself.

Telegram will counter Zoom with its take on group video calls

Expect it to be available on PCs, phones, and tablets. Telegram hasn’t been shy about courting fleeing WhatsApp users, and now it’s aiming at a new target: people who want an alternative to Zoom.  As TechCrunch reports, Telegram founder Pavel Durov has revealed that his messaging app will add a group video call feature sometime in May.
