Verizon LG G2 set to feature exclusive wireless charging

Look at that sexy, super thin bezel. Just look at it. The LG G2 was launched last week and LG looked to have thrown everything in but the kitchen sink (although they might have found room for that too, only the teardowns can confirm). Turns out LG also skipped out on the inclusion of wireless charging as there was no mention of the feature at the event. However, the sign up site for the Verizon version of the LG G2 has revealed that the G2 will have wireless charging exclusively for the Verizon variant.

You can now use YouTube Music with Android Auto

If you’re already playing music through YouTube Music, you’ll see the widget for it on the Android Auto home screen. Otherwise, you’ll need to tap the headphones icon on the bottom right and select YouTube Music from the list. YouTube Music’s main navigation menu features four options: Your Mixtape, Recommended, Last played, and Library. Android Police noted that there is a fifth option for Downloads, but it didn’t pop up for me likely because I don’t have anything downloaded in the main YouTube Music app.

Nokia is a fallen giant that’s trying to get back atop the mobile business, a position it held for years before the smartphone revolution caught it unprepared. Apple initiated the revolution, by introducing a touchscreen-only device that impressed the crowds and started selling like hot cakes. And then Android came out of hiding, and OEMs launched a variety of Android-based devices, also touchscreen based and capable to run various apps like the iPhone, that fitted any budget.

Samsung releases outdoor ad for Galaxy Premier I9260

The Samsung Galaxy Premier has had a busy schedule in the past weeks. After we caught the unofficial Nexus phone successor making a stop at Taiwan’s FCC-like agency (NCC), which hinted its impending arrival, the Premier now stars in a billboard ad alongside the rest of the Galaxy lineup in Guangzhou, China. Looking at the ad, which was first spotted by ePrice, it seems Samsung is planning to introduce two variants of the Premier: the I9260, which  we’ve known and talked about in the last couple of months, and the lesser known I9268 model.

Sony devices with unlocked bootloaders may malfunction if users enable My Xperia app

We continue to fight the war against phone theft with kill switches, but companies like Sony have been providing theft protection for years. Sony’s My Xperia app can locate, lock, factory reset or even send a sound alert to your phone. That’s not all it does, though – if you have an unlocked bootloader, it may go as far as making your device malfunction. Those with the My Xperia Theft Protection service on their more recent high-end Sony Xperia smartphones may have noticed that using this service will get rid of the ability to unlock your bootloader.

T-Mobile iPhone 5/5S coming next year, what does it mean for Android?

Deutsche Telekom, the mother ship in charge of T-Mobile’s destiny, issued a press release today detailing its mobile plans for the coming years. Since T-Mobile is a big part of Deutsche Telekom, we were not surprised to see the U.S. carrier mentioned quite a few times in the document. And yes, Apple was also there. In a simple phrase towards the middle of the press release, Deutsche Telekom shyly confirmed that the iPhone is coming to T-Mobile.

ZTE Grand S3 hands on and first impressions

We see a lot of smartphones launched at MWC every year, and sometimes, smaller players have had the tendency to get lost in the crowd, especially if there are any big hitters around that steal the spotlight. While that is somewhat the case this year as well, especially with HTC and Samsung introducing their respective flagships, what the other lesser known names in Android have done extremely well is to offer something unique with their products, that go beyond what their otherwise standard nature, or price point, would suggest.
