Google Lens now available through Assistant on OnePlus devices (Update)

Update (05/07/2018): Google Lens in the Google Assistant is slowly spreading across the Android ecosystem, and now it looks like OnePlus phones are next in line. According to redditors (spotted by XDA-Developers), the OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5, and OnePlus 5T have all received the augmented reality feature. The Assistant-enabled feature lets you point your camera at objects, text, barcodes or landmarks, getting information about them in the process. Google Lens also reads QR codes, allowing you to get rid of that dedicated app.

HTC publishes kernel source code for the One M9

HTC has just published the kernel source code for the new One M9 handset on the HTC Dev site. If you’re a developer looking to enhance your application functionality on the One M9, you can head to the dev site and download the kernel that clocks in at 517MB. Regular consumers don’t really have much use for the source code, but it’s there for the taking if developers want it. The kernel can also be used to create custom ROMs for the device, so we’ll hopefully get to see some new ROMs become available in the near future.
