After a period of silence from its relatively new ‘Made for Samsung’ program, some may have been wondering whatever happened to the company’s exclusive software initiative. However, Samsung and The Weather Channel have teamed up to release a new weather app specifically for some Galaxy handsets today.
‘The Weather Channel for Samsung’ app is now live in the Galaxy Apps store, you can find it by searching for “Weather Channel”. However, it’s only officially available for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, S6 edge+, and the Galaxy Note 5, which is a really minuscule selection of phones.
If you buy a new Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, you may notice that one of the apps that will be pre-loaded on the flagship phone is from McAfee. The company confirmed this week that its well-known security software protection product is now included with all Galaxy S8 devices.

Specifically, the McAfee VirusScan anti-malware technology is included with the Galaxy S8 as part of an overall deal with Samsung.
Update, January 23, 2020 (02:41AM ET): Samsung has launched both the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite in India. The country is the first one globally to get the new mid-range Galaxy smartphones.
The Galaxy S10 Lite is priced at Rs 39,999 (~$561) and will be available in Prism White, Prism Black, and Prism Blue colors. A single 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the phone has been launched in India.

“India Can’t Hang Up on Chinese Smartphones” is the title of a piece in the Wall Street Journal today, neatly tackling the on-again/off-again rivalry between the two most populous countries on the planet, that’s now focused on Xiaomi in India, with neither party able to leave the other.
Android 10 seems to be hitting devices faster than Android Pie, with Essential, OnePlus, and Xiaomi all issuing the stable update in some way or another.
