LG Display TL;DR LG is using CES to show how its transparent OLEDs could be used in the real world. It envisions a “Smart Bed” where a transparent TV could sit at your feet. It’s still not clear when you might see this in mobile devices. LG Display is still eager to make transparent OLED displays a practical reality, and it’s using CES 2021 to show just what might be possible.

How to restore or unbrick the Galaxy S3 I535 after being soft-bricked

Sometimes when you flash a ROM on your Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535, the /system and /data partitions are not wiped properly, causing those partitions to be formatted with read-only (R/O) permissions rather than read-write (R/W). Such a scenario makes the phone unable to boot because no data can be written to those partitions.  Flashing another ROM or a stock ROM through Odin will also yield the same result. Now that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is available, there’s an obvious question to ask: how does its performance fare against Samsung’s previous flagship, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra? Gary Sims has conducted a realistic speed test of the Snapdragon versions of the S21 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra to find out, and one Galaxy emerged the clear victor. This was ultimately a way to gauge the Snapdragon 888’s prowess. The Galaxy S21 Ultra won every speed test by a significant (though not cavernous) margin, completing each benchmark a few seconds faster than the Snapdragon 865 Plus-based Note 20 Ultra.

Japan Display teases super crisp 432 ppi 7-inch panel for next year

Japan Display Inc (JDI), one of the world’s top manufacturers of LCD displays, announced today its Innovation Vehicles for 2013, demonstrating new technologies that will make it into consumer products in 2014 and beyond. The most interesting new prototype from Japan Display is a 7-inch tablet display that shatters current pixel density records. The 1,600 x 2,560 (Wide-QXGA) resolution of the new 7-inch LCD TFT panel translates to an amazing pixel density of 432 ppi.
