One of the big themes of the Google I/O 2019 opening keynote was inclusivity. A new feature in Android Q aims to improve inclusivity for persons who are deaf and hard of hearing by offering instant captions to just about any audio or video played on a phone.
Called Live Caption, the feature employs AI to translate speech played back on a smartphone to fast, accurate captions. The beauty of it is the feature works with any app, regardless if it plays audio or video, and regardless if the content is streamed from a server, played from local storage, or generated on the fly by a human.
While owners of the second gen Moto G saw an update to Lollipop a while back, now it’s finally the original Moto G’s turn!
Starting today, Android 5.0.2 is rolling out bringing all the improvements you’d expect such the new lock screen, enhancement notifications, Lollipop’s built-in flashlight, a battery life indicator, and much more. Since Motorola’s skin is pretty much near-stock anyhow, Material Design improvements also make their way over to the Moto G in a big way.

Epic is hosting the FreeFortnite tournament on August 23. In its latest dig at Apple, Epic Games is hosting a new Fortnite tournament on August 23 for “one more Victory Royale with friends across all platforms.” The announcement of the cup comes on the back of Epic’s ongoing feud with Apple over the App Store’s alleged monopoly on payments.
Huawei first introduced EMUI 10.1 alongside the P40 series in March this year. The update has since arrived on several models in China, but the firm has now announced a release timetable for devices outside China.

USB Type-C has been designed as a solution to much more than just moving data between devices. In the meantime, the groups behind HDMI and USB have announced a new HDMI Alt Mode that allows for a simple connection between the two.
