T-Mobile CEO "confirms" it will carry the Pixel 4

The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL won’t launch until tomorrow, and yet T-Mobile has pretty much publicly confirmed that it will carry the devices. T-Mobile CEO John Legere showed off an interesting dish he was preparing on social media while accompanied by a couple of Pixel 4s. Legere posted a picture of the devices on Instagram and live-streamed them on Facebook. Of course, the posts weren’t exclusively about the Pixel 4s, but the “subtle” inclusion of the retail boxes as props was no accident.

the edge is here to stay

The edge is no longer an experiment, and with Samsung’s new and improved build quality, revitalized software, and hardware changes (for better or worse), it is very clear that Samsung is carving out a new path for itself. The Galaxy S6 Edge is the beautiful result of Samsung’s newfound identity.  Over the last few years, Samsung has been heavily criticized for their build quality and heavy use of plastic, with consumers eagerly awaiting a design overhaul with every flagship release.

The first LG gaming laptop packs quite a punch, but it's likely very pricey

TL;DR The first LG gaming laptop has been announced, as part of the company’s UltraGear series. The laptop will have a big 17.3-inch display with a fast 300Hz refresh rate, along with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card. No price has been announced, but it’s expected to go on sale in early 2022 in the US. The LG gaming laptop will be marketed as part of its UltraGear gaming brand, but it doesn’t really have a cool name of its own; only a dull model number (17G90Q).

Android was originally designed for digital cameras

Android is synonymous with smartphones. It’s the most popular mobile operating system in the world, powering more than 2.5 billion active devices. However, a lot of people don’t know that the OS wasn’t originally designed for phones. At the economic summit in Tokyo back in 2013, Andy Rubin — the co-founder of Android — revealed that Android was originally made for digital cameras. The plan was to create a camera platform that would include cloud storage for images and videos.

And now, all three devices just got even better thanks to some big price-drops. The Just Black and Clearly White variants of the standard Pixel 3 see a whopping $400 discount at Rakuten. The device is already on sale for $340 off, but with the coupon code SAVE15, the device sees an additional $60 off bringing the price down to $399.

Huawei P40 Pro Plus vs Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra: Super zoom battle!

Smartphone cameras have improved a ton over the last couple of years. Sensors have gotten bigger and processing has gotten better. Amid fierce competition, one spec that manufacturers have consistently tried to best each other on is zoom. Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S20 Ultra. It had a huge 5,000mAh battery, an enormous 6.9-inch display, and a beefy 108MP camera sensor. While most of these specs are impressive in their own right, the spec Samsung really wanted to push was the S20 Ultra’s 100x zoom capabilities.

Physical Google Assistant buttons are coming to more phones

Over the last year, LG has introduced a handful of phones that feature dedicated Google Assistant buttons. Google is now working with several smartphone manufacturers to bring the physical Assistant button to more handsets. At MWC 2019, Google announced that the Assistant button is coming to LG’s and Nokia’s entire lineup of upcoming smartphones. This list of devices includes the LG G8 ThinQ, LG K40, LG K50, LG Q60, Nokia 3.2, and Nokia 4.

First came Utgard, which you find in GPUs like the Mali-400, Mali-470 etc. Utgard supported OpenGl ES 2.0 and was found in devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2. Next came Midgard, a new architecture with support for the unified shader model and OpenGL ES 3.

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority TL;DR A Korean news outlet has claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will gain an S Pen slot. This would be the first time we see a stylus slot on a foldable. Now, a Korean news outlet has reported that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 foldable could follow suit.
