It seems that Google is all about wearable computer technology these days. First we had Google Glass and then a patent for Smart Gloves surfaced. Now it seems very likely that the company is moving forward with a smartwatch project. Technology moves quickly, that much is obvious. It wasn’t too long ago that smartphones barely existed and those that did were pretty much exclusively used for those in the business world. That’s why it is no surprise to hear that Google is actively working to find the next big thing.

Chromebook now available in 6,600 stores around the world

Google’s cloud-centric laptop which is built around its Chrome web browser is now available from Walmart. The Chrome OS powered laptop, which was previously available from outlets like Best Buy and Amazon.com, can now be bought in one of Walmart’s 2,800 stores across the U.S.There are several different Chromebook models available each one built by a different manufacturer. Acer’s take on the concept uses a dual-core Intel Celeron together with a 16GB SSD.

LG OLED plant approved by China days after Apple partnership reported

TL;DR China just approved a new LG OLED plant in Guangzhou. The approval came only two weeks after a reported LG/Apple partnership hit the news. The new LG OLED plant will primarily focus on televisions, but it’s likely it will create smartphone panels as well. LG announced today in a press release that the Chinese government just approved LG to build an OLED production facility in Guangzhou. A mock-up of the plant is pictured above.

Google Assistant update adds curved UI from Search and Feed redesigns

If you boot up Google’s digital companion on a compatible device today you should be able to see the changes for yourself. The first thing you might notice is the stark white background which now matches the color of each dialogue box. This replaces the light gray palette from before, although your own voice commands will still show in a mildly darker shade of gray. Other changes are far more subtle, especially when compared to the Search and Feed overhauls.
