Oxygen OS 2.1.2 hitting the OnePlus 2, OnePlus X via OTA update

This year, OnePlus has so far released two devices: a second One, and an X One. Thanks to a new Oxygen OS update (2.1.1) being released OTA, both the OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X are going to get some new features. Specifically: The OnePlus 2’s update will include the following: Improved UX for preview in Camera Performance improvements on app install and launch Individual icon customization support Fixes for RAW format on 3rd party camera apps Russian & Turkish language support Lockscreen wallpaper support Security patches Bug fixes to System Update to improve OTA stability General bug fixes and performance improvements The following comment was included with respect to the update:

Apple tipped to offer triple camera on 2019 iPhone, 3D cameras next year

The much anticipated, 230 mpg Chevrolet Volt is due to hit dealers later this year and what better way to manage its on board computer than with your beloved Android phone?  An app is in the works for Android, iPhone, and the Blackberry Storm that will allow users to control the charging of the vehicle, check stats on MPGs, see the current odometer reading, and more.Some of the more interesting features allow you to turn the A/C and heat on while the vehicle is plugged in, conserving battery life but in essence, acting like a remote starter to get the car ready before you need to leave.

Amazon (AMZN) admits the Fire phone's pricing was a major mistake

Last week Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) shocked investors with a massive loss. Jeff Bezos’ company ended Q3 2014 with $544 million in the red, a bad loss even for a company that has longed delivered minimal quarterly increases in profits or even small losses. While Amazon had some other big-ticket investments to explain the half a billion loss (including the acquisition of streaming platform Twitch), market watchers agreed that the bulk of it was owed to the Fire phone.

T-Mobile's Walmart Family Mobile plans now offer more data for no extra charge

T-Mobile has just announced that its Walmart Family Mobile plans are getting more data for the same price. Starting Saturday, April 18th (tomorrow) you can get the $29.88 per month plan with 1GB of 4G LTE data (up from 500MB) and the $39.88 per month plan with 3GB of 4G LTE data (up from 2.5GB). Each plan still offers unlimited talk and text, and there’s no need for users to sign up for additional data – T-Mobile will automatically bump up the data amount for all customers currently on the plans.

Amazon's Android-based Fire OS 6 will debut on the upcoming Fire TV

From the slew of Echo products to the new Fire TV with 4K HDR and Alexa support, it’s fair to say that Amazon was busy this past week. With such headline-grabbing announcements, it’s no wonder that something like Amazon announcing its Android-based Fire OS 6 went under the radar. According to one of Amazon’s developer pages, Fire OS 6 is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. This means that picture-in-picture (PiP) and the ability to record content on their TV are supported in the new version.
