BlackBerry DTEK50 specs, price, release date and everything else you should know

BlackBerry has just taken the wraps off its new Android-powered smartphone, the DTEK50. As you may already know, this is only the second Android device produced by the company. The first was the Priv, which launched in late 2015. The DTEK50, or ‘the world’s most secure Android smartphone’, sports a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 scratch-resistant display, a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, and microSD expansion up to 2TB.

First dual-boot Windows and Android smartphone scheduled for this year

The Times of India is reporting that Indian phone manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles is planning to release dual-boot devices as early as June, which will run both Windows Phone and Android. It wasn’t too long ago that we heard the first news about Intel’s quick switching dual-boot technology, and although we don’t yet know if Karbonn is planning to make use of Intel’s technology or not, the idea of dual-booting Android and Windows is one which seems to be gaining momentum.

The OnePlus Nord 2 has an impressive main camera (on paper)

TL;DR OnePlus has revealed that the Nord 2 has a flagship-level main camera. The phone uses a Sony IMX766 main camera sensor with OIS. This is the same camera sensor seen on the OnePlus 9 series and the Oppo Find X3 Pro. OnePlus has been drip-feeding Nord 2 features ahead of the July 22 launch date, confirming chipset and screen details in recent days. Now, the manufacturer has turned to the main camera, and it looks like the mid-range device has some impressive hardware.

Google is shutting down Inbox in March

TL;DR Google launched Inbox by Gmail almost four years ago with innovative features not found in Gmail. The company has announced that it will stop supporting Inbox in March of 2019. Google suggests users start using Gmail again which now features most of the tools originally found in Inbox. When Google launched the Inbox by Gmail email client in October of 2014, it was a place for the search giant to experiment and test out new and innovative features.

Samsung factory robbed, $36 million in electronics stolen

On Monday, a Samsung factory located in the city of Campinas, in São Paulo, Brazil, was robbed and held at gunpoint. According to ZDNet, around 20 men disguised as factory workers snuck in during the night shift. A little after midnight, the criminals held a few Samsung employees hostage and began their raid of the factory. The employees who were not being held hostage continued to work, but had the batteries taken out of their cell phones.

Synaptics announces what sounds a lot like the Galaxy S8 optical fingerprint scanner

Fingerprint scanner-maker Synaptics has today unveiled what we can only imagine is the optical fingerprint scanner rumored for inclusion in the upcoming Galaxy S8. Samsung and Synaptics have a long history of working together and the new Natural ID FS9100 optical fingerprint sensors certainly fit the bill of what we’ve been hearing about the S8 using a sensor located underneath the display glass in place of its traditional home button-based scanner.
