Fitbit Ionic's first software update brings more watch faces and apps, improved touch interaction

When we reviewed the Fitbit Ionic in November, most of our gripes had to do with software. Fitbit OS was quite laggy, and there were only a handful of third-party apps available at launch. Now, with the Ionic’s first software update, many of those issues will be fixed. The biggest news here is the addition of more third-party applications. Previously only four apps were available for the Ionic, and now Fitbit is adding dozens more.

Facebook makes its best effort at being a shoulder to cry on post-breakup

Anyone who has ever gone through a ‘Facebook official’ breakup understands that the current algorithm Facebook uses automatically shuffles all of your ex’s posts to the very top of your feed, bolds their name every time it occurs, and plays “Hurt” by Johnny Cash each time you log on. Okay, some of that might be a matter of perception. Nevertheless, it sure seems like going through a breakup in the digital age basically guarantees that you’re soon to be bombarded by images of your ex having the time of their life.

Multi-format audio and video player for Android

Most Android devices, if not all, have in-built audio and video players. Although, there is never a guarantee that these players can support all audio and video file formats. Because of this, users sometimes resort to downloading alternate player apps from the Google Play Store, players that can play almost any file format coupled with extras mixed in. However, although Splash Cars starts out relaxing, upgrades and more challenging maps quickly escalate it into a twitch-happy whirlwind of frenetic, paint-splattered action. You are… meh, it doesn’t really matter who you are.

Samsung explains the Galaxy S7's Always On Display (AOD)

Let there be LIGHT…in the darkness. But make sure it’s ambient and not draining the battery. When Samsung launched its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge last month, it brought forth a fortitude of features. Indeed it is this last in the list that Samsung has taken to talking about today.

Swiftkey, the uber popular keyboard replacement app, today received a consistent update to version 4.3 beta that unifies the phone and tablet versions into one flexible app. The main new feature of the unified app is the ability to resize, move, and even split the keyboard layout to suit your device and typing preferences. The new app features three modes, poetically called Layouts for Living: If you need to type fast in landscape mode, you can use the Thumb mode, which splits the keys into two groups that you can use with just your thumbs.
