An apparent Google Pixel 5 variant has leaked in new live-action shots. The phone in question physically resembles the Pixel 5 as seen in previous leaks. There are suggestions that this so-called “Pixel 5s” could support mmWave 5G. We’ve seen plenty of purported shots of the Google Pixel 5, but new live images suggest another variant, namely the Pixel 5s, could be in the works.
OnePlus announced earlier this week that it would change its brand identity, after using the same branding since 2014’s OnePlus One. We already got a purportedly leaked look at the new identity, but the firm has now made it official today.
The company revealed the new brand identity on Weibo and on its website and, truth be told, I struggled to figure out what was actually new at first. Check out the new logo on the left and in the center, and the old one on the right.

Samsung’s One UI 3.0 beta program has opened to Galaxy A and Galaxy M phones. It’s initially focused on the A51 5G and M31. You may have to wait until March to get the finished Android 11-based release. As with earlier One UI 3 releases, the newer software gives the A51 and M31 a mix of built-in Android 11 features as well as Samsung customizations. You’ll now see dedicated sections for conversations and media in the notification shade, for instance.
T-Mobile has long pushed to be the best carrier around. In terms of bang-for-the-buck services, T-Mobile is hard to beat, with their un-carrier approach netting users unlimited data for about as low a cost as you’ll find in the U.S. today.
While T-Mobile has been great for individual lines, there has been one major omission to their unlimited 4G lineup, a family plan. That ends today! Starting December 10th, T-Mobile now offers an unlimited everything family plan with 4G LTE data.
Xaomi has announced the Redmi Y2 at an event in India. The handset is a rebranded version of the Redmi S2 launched in China last month, and the sequel to the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite from last November. Unlike its Y1 predecessors, though, there’s no Lite model coming this time.
Instead, Xiaomi will release the device in two versions — 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM — the same as with the S2, and at a similarly attractive price point.
TicHome Mini, the smart speaker that was announced back in August, is now finally up for pre-order. The device that goes head to head with the Amazon Echo Dot and Google Home Mini can be yours for just $79, but only for the next two days or so. After the flash sale ends, you’ll have to dish out $99 to get it.
The TicHome Mini is an Assistant-powered speaker that can play music from various streaming services, answer any weird questions you might have, and tell you what the weather is like, among other things.
Most technology enthusiasts these days, including many of us here at Android Authority, swear by password managers. They’re often pitched as the easiest way to improve your online security, eliminating common problems such as easy-to-guess passwords and bad storage practices. Moreover, many even offer convenience through auto-fill as an added bonus. If you’re conscious about staying secure and private online, you’ve likely heard about password managers too.
The basic premise is simple: a password manager generates random passwords for each website or service you use.

Google is reportedly working on an AR headset to compete with Apple, Meta, and Microsoft. Codenamed Project Iris, the headset will run on custom Google silicon and will not require a tethered connection to a power source. Google hopes to ship the device in 2024. Google has a long history with AR and VR headsets, and it looks like added pressure from companies like Meta and Apple are pushing Google to take things more seriously.
