Apple’s iPhone is more popular than ever among US teenagers, according to a poll. Just one in every 10 American teens uses an Android or an iPhone alternative phone. It’s bad news for Android OEMs trying to attract future buyers. The data stems from a semi-annual survey conducted in the US, polling 7,000 teens across 47 states with an average age of just over 16.

Recently, the popularity of true wireless earbuds has taken off. It seems like it’s all anyone ever wants to talk about and there are always new headphones coming out. There are the obvious names that come to mind, such as the Apple AirPods and the Samsung Galaxy Buds, but it’s not just phone makers that are giving it a go at the product category.

From the liquid crystal or OLED materials at the heart of it to the LEDs and optical films of the backlight structure, much of the display performance we take for granted comes from years of intensive development of the wide range of substances that go into the modern screen. Even though we’re literally in contact with them dozens of times every day, some display materials are rarely thought of: the cover glass and surface coatings that enhance the quality of the displayed image and protect the screen from damage, scratches, dirt, and grease.

Even in its alpha state, the first Android P Developer Preview includes a slew of user-facing and underlying changes to tinker around with. Some of the more significant changes include a redesigned notification panel and “messaging” notification style that is reminiscent of iOS in more than one way.
When you first swipe down from the top, you will notice how different the notification panel appears. Google went for a rounded-corner aesthetic for the quick settings and notification areas, which are now slightly separated from each other.

Most of the devices that come to market nowadays try to appeal to a wide range of people. But a beautiful glass phone might not be for everyone, and some people need a device that’s more durable in their day-to-day life. Luckily, Cat has been filling that niche with durable smartphones that can survive more than just a drop from your bedside table. The company is probably best known for its large, yellow construction vehicles, but who better to make a phone built to last than a company that specializes in gear made to take a beating?
There have been some gaps in its functionality in the past, however. Up until a few weeks ago, asking your phone and your Google Home “What song is playing?” would give you different answers. That can be very frustrating.
