Since it’s the weekend, and we’re just a few days away from Google I/O 2013, these concepts are a great pastime while we wait to see what new products Google will unveil. Designer Bob Freking has imagined what future Nexus smartphones and tablets could look like, and in what follows you’ll be able to see renders for various devices including the Nexus 5, Nexus 8 and Nexus 11.

Samsung SM-G9198 flip phone officially announced in China, packing Snapdragon 808

Dubbed the Samsung SM-G9198, the new flip phone is powered by a Snapdragon 808, a curious move considering Samsung has been less reliant on Qualcomm and more dependent on its own in-house Exynos chips as of late. Other specs include 2GB RAM, 1 16MP rear cam, a 6MP front cam, 16GB storage with microSD, a dual 3.9-inch Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1280 x 768. There’s also a 2020 mAh battery which is said to last 189 hours of standby.

This website turns .gifs into boot animations

Ah, Reddit. The source of all things… innovative. If you’re tired of the same old boot animation on your device, you’re in luck. Someone created a website that can turn any .gif file into your device’s boot animation. The website comes from Reddit user eth0izzle, and is currently only an alpha version, meaning you might run into some errors if you upload strangely-formatted .gifs. A video telling the design story of the Galaxy S4 has been posted on Samsung Tomorrow’s YouTube channel, revealing some of the design principles behind the company’s flagship device. Just like with the Galaxy S3 about a year ago, Samsung decided to release a Galaxy S4 design video, but this time around it posted it a lot closer to the handset’s launch. In it, you’ll hear Samsung designers talking about Galaxy S4 design lines, but also about some of the new software features part of Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.

Google puts YouTube TV on Roku again via sneaky shortcut

However, Google snuck a link to YouTube TV within the regular YouTube channel, which is still available on Rokus. This is a nice workaround for YTTV subscribers who aren’t happy about being caught in the middle of Google and Roku’s squabbling. Last week, we heard word of an intense squabble between Google and Roku.

Great battery life is one of the leading selling points of the Galaxy Note series. The Motorola Moto Z Oreo update is rolling out to unlocked US variants
