Push notifications are an essential part of our smartphones. Without them, we could miss important messages or miss out on hearing the latest news as it happens. Unfortunately, it appears that there might be a major problem with delayed Gmail notifications on Android, which is certainly no good.
In a recent thread on Reddit, an industrious Redditor did some searching through their phone’s logs to find out why they wouldn’t see Gmail notifications instantaneously.
The smartphone industry is in turmoil. Commoditization, market saturation, and plain old competition are weakening the position of established players, while hungry newcomers are seeing opportunities everywhere. Mountain View yesterday at Google I/O announced something very exciting: Google Play Games services. At the time of this writing, the new Play Games features have only been integrated in a small handful of games, but we should see more integration as time goes on.
There’s only a few games that have implemented the new features, including popular titles like World of Goo, Triple Town, Plague Inc., Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, and Beach Buggy Blitz.

Yesterday, LastPass announced some major changes for its free tier. Starting in mid-March, non-paying users will only be able to use the service on one of two platform categories, namely PC or mobile. That means you won’t be able to use the service on both your laptop and your phone. You’ll need to pick one or the other.
Obviously, people who fork out the cash for the premium version of the service won’t have this limitation.

Today is the fifth anniversary of the release of Wear OS. Born as Android Wear, Wear OS is Google’s Android-based operating system specifically designed to work on wearables and smartwatches.
After five years of development and refinement, you’d think Wear OS would be a strong contender within the wearable industry and something a reviews site like Android Authority would recommend. However, that’s not really the case.

Samsung is looking to boost app development inside its Tizen OS spin-off ecosystem with the launch of the company’s new Tizen Mobile App Incentive Program. The program is designed to support the developer community in order to grow Samsung’s ecosystem, and there’s $10,000 up for grabs for developers who submit their apps.
The new program is scheduled to run from February 2017 through to October 2017, giving developers time to make a start on their app ideas.
